Van Gogh was a great artist, But he suffered from mental illness and cut off one of his ears,because he thought he could her voices in his head, after suffering from the illness through his life. On 27 July 1890,aged 37, he walked into a filed and shot himself in the chest but survived the impact and managed to walk back to the Ravoux inn. he died there two days later.
